| The felts are about 1cm thick and firmly felted;
I have been making round felts for many years and it is a favourite form
of mine.
I do not cut or trim the felts to give the final shape as this severs
the wool fibres and leaves a soft and vulnerable edge. The shape is built
up during the layout of the fibres and then formed by hand during felting.
With this "turned edge" method, the perimeter of the work is
integral to the felt and the fibres remain unbroken.
All felts are signed and come with a custom made hanging system on the
reverse.
All these works have been sold... As this form is a favourite,
I make these on a continuous basis...
